Swiss Authorities Reveal Looting Yemeni Heritage by Qatar and the UAE

Swiss authorities announced on Saturday the smuggling artifacts from Yemen, Syria, Libya to Switzerland through the State of Qatar and the UAE.
According to Agence France-Presse, the public prosecutor in Geneva, that the smuggled artifacts were stored in the free port in Geneva then transferred mostly to Switzerland from Qatar and some from the United Arab Emirates.
The sources said that the confiscated pieces were deposited in the free port in 2009 to 2010 as well as explained a customs inspection was conducted in April 2013 about the existence of an illegal source.
The agency added that, the cultural authorities in the Swiss federal capital in connection with “the issue of customs opened ,February2015, this file and confirms the correctness of this crime, cutting smuggling
In the same context, the public prosecutor in Geneva noted : the investigation showed the pieces were transferred from their original positions after looting.
It was also pointed out that these pieces will be deposited in the Museum of Art and History in Geneva for presentation to the public, waiting for it back to its original.
